Personal Spiritual Guidance
Questions, concerns, private prayer with the clergy.
Call the office to contact any member of the clergy
or e-mail here: ------------ ---------------- ------------------
Call us:
- Before going to the hospital – in cases of illness
or injury, St. Martin’s clergy want to be notified. A
primary ministry of the Church is to provide prayers for healing
and assurance of the presence of God in the midst of suffering.
- When you decide to be married – the clergy are eager
to assist couples as they prepare to commit themselves to one
another in Christian marriage. Guidelines concerning weddings
at St. Martin’s are available at the parish office. Several
premarital conferences are to be scheduled with the priest
by the bride and groom.
- When someone is ready for baptism – baptism,
becoming a member of the Body of Christ, is a primary and
joyous moment
in the Christian life, and the clergy are happy to help individuals
and families prepare for it. Baptisms usually take place during
a regularly scheduled service; and, parents, godparents and/or
adult candidates attend a pre-baptism meeting.
- When there is a crisis in your family – whether
it is a marital problem, a serious conflict between parents
and
teenager, depression, or some other crisis in the life of an
individual, the clergy can provide assistance and, when appropriate,
referral to other professional counselors in the community.
- When there is a death in the family,
or death is imminent – St.
Martin’s clergy should be notified in order that comforting
ministrations of the Church may be provided to the person dying
and/or to the family, including arrangements for burial.
